About us

Kephart & Associates was founded as a graphic design studio in 1987 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Originally known as norwaydesign, we worked with industrial and commercial clients in the central Michigan area, including The Delfield Company (Mount Pleasant), Supreme Fan Company (Los Angeles, CA), Michigan School Food Service Association (Flint, MI), Beckwith/Hall Advertising(Grand Rapids, MI) and Autodie/Autobond Corporation (Grand Rapids, MI).

In 1995, we moved to Marine City, Michigan, and changed our name to Kephart & Associates. Since then, K&A has developed a list of clients in southeastern Michigan and beyond, including:

In 1997, we added web development to our list of available services, to go along with our established print design, technical writing and ad copywriting abilities.

Owner & Creative Director Tom Kephart has been a writer, graphic designer, illustrator, radio personality, actor and director. His wide range of creative abilities, as well as years of experience in managing complex projects, mean that your job is in capable hands when you entrust Kephart & Associates with it. Tom has been married for 24 years to his high-school sweetheart, Doreen, and has two children: Erin, a recent high school graduate; and Andy, a high school sophomore. Studio dog Raven, a black lab, and studio cat Shiloh, a black burmese, provide companionship during the day and don't complain when Tom grumbles about deadlines.

We've been fortunate to work with many talented illustrators, designers, writers and web developers over the years. We generally work on a contract or project basis with our Associates, but occasionally we've hired someone part- or full-time when demand requires it. When opportunities open up at Kephart & Associates, we'll post an opening on our front page blog.
